Pay Band: 6 (£29 per hour)

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:30

Contract: 4th October for 6 weeks with the potential to be extended

Job Summary:

To provide specialist hearing assessment and hearing aid rehabilitation

to adults with hearing loss. The post-holder must be able to work

without direct supervision, following national and local audiological

protocols

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

To assist in accurate diagnosis with a high degree of specialist knowledge, skill and responsibility

Autonomously assess patients medically for hearing and provision through the Direct Referral route.

To provide expert knowledge in all aspects of adult rehabilitation, including Tinnitus management

To undertake accurate history taking for patients referred with age related hearing loss

To be able to perform Otoscopic examination following national and local protocols

To be able to select appropriate hearing aids for patients

To safely fit appropriate hearing aids with regards to maximum patient benefit

To use appropriate clinical tools to assure patient benefit from hearing aids

To be able to maintain patient’s hearing aids efficiently

To be able to demonstrate efficient management of clinical time to maximise benefit but taking account of patient workload
